Prevent burnout and compassion fatigue
with improved self-care practices
Yoga for Helpers focus on providing the helper with much needed focus and refueling.
We are excited to help guide other helpers through the process of grounding, connecting with themselves, and beginning to heal from the compounded secondary-trauma they experience on an ongoing basis.
This will be a flowing style practice connecting breath and movement to find steadiness and ease in each pose. Breathing exercises and relaxation techniques will be incorporated into each class.
Helping Your Workers
Research has shown that improved self-care practices can decrease compassion fatigue and burnout. Burnout has an effect on the delivery of services to clients, as well as employees’ personal well-being. While helpers often stress the importance of healthy coping skills for their clients, they struggle with how to best implement those practices in our own lives.
Many agencies are beginning to see the link between employee disengagement, treatment of client, and wellbeing of employees.
